In 2010, we decorated our christmas tree with a microbiology theme.  Some of the ornaments I made with a laser cutter out of plex.  There were petri dishes, a neuron, a cell diagram, an ameoba, and a bacteriophage.  The garland was DNA double helix made out of pipe cleaners.  The tree topper was a lithium atom (with a subtle reference to the Trinity).
